Bedroom Makeover

It’s been a long time coming, but I’m finally making progress on my bedroom redo. Last April I got a new bed spread with the grey/yellow motif that everybody is crazy about these days.
In July we had my grandfather-in-law out for a few weeks and he painted our room grey. Since then it has sat without anything on the walls and without any matching curtains.
Until now! My mom was out this past week and together we tackled the curtains.

I made sure to hang the curtains higher and more spread apart to create an illusion of a bigger window. It really looks nice. They are lined with blackout curtains which not only cuts out the light, but also helps insulates the windows from the extreme temperatures.

We used this candle holder before but replaced the green candles with new white ones. Without really planning it, the pattern in the holder reflects the pattern in the curtain fabric.

Then we finally put some of our decor back up on the walls. I’m having a bit of trouble getting past the pure white in the curtains and the off white in the bed spread, but other than that I like how it’s coming together.

And another old standby candleholder. I still need to replace these candles but its hard to find ones that fit this size. The Eiffel Tower is one of the few decorations that has been with us since our first apartment. It was my sisters, but her husband isn’t a fan of France so my French speaking husband was happy to take it off their hands.
I need to find a few more yellow accents and create a photo wall on the one empty wall, then we’ll be done!

Love it!!
Looks very nice! For some reason, I don’t remember your new bed spread from when I visited. Updates are fun. Glad to see that Eiffel Tower is still around, hehe.
