My little man is obsessed with buttons. Whenever he is having a fussy afternoon, all I have to do is show him the button on my pants and he is occupied and content. The other day it occurred to me that I could put together a custom activity blanket for Parker using old pants, specifically [...] I love the online craft community! It is truly a friendly and helpful place. Even though I make most of my own crafts, I still find it hard to resist a cute and reasonable purchase here and there. Like from my friend over at Think Liz. She makes the cutest baby stuff! So, I could [...] I used to think parents were just a little bit crazy when they would say things like, “My baby loves fill in the blank.” Really? Do they love that thing, or do you just love that thing and enjoy giving it to them? Of course I knew kids have personalities, but can they really have [...] I’m sure by now it is pretty obvious that we cloth diaper our little munchkin. The most common response to this news is, “Why in the world would you cloth diaper?” I get it, I really do. I used to be the incredulous person asking that question. I mean, in this day of convenient disposable [...] Although I’ve only been a parent for 7 months (really? Tomorrow is 7 months already??), I’ve already had some experience with needing remedies for common baby problems. Parker has been blessed with fairly good health, but even the healthiest babies can sometimes use a little help now and again. If you know me in real [...] I’ve been sewing since I was in third grade (as best as I can remember!). I can still fondly recall some of the first things I ever made (or helped with): a stuffed animal pig, a cat skirt, a garden dress, etc. But I didn’t really get into sewing until my mom started [...] . . . or, a new mama’s thoughts on sleep. For me, sleep deprivation was by far the hardest part about becoming a parent. As much as I knew baby’s didn’t sleep a whole lot, I was no where near prepared enough to deal with the physical and emotional agony of not getting enough [...] I’m getting really familiar with the phrase “wow, he is really big for his age.” Just about anyone who meets my little Parker dude seems to proclaim it. He didn’t start out big, 6 months ago on his Birth Day — just 7 pounds 11 ounces of awesome. He’ s a little bigger now.
