What a lovely weekend. I don’t think we’ve had that much fun in awhile! Good times with friends, a date night, seeing the King’s Speech (uh-mazing!), a coffee date, good family time, watching a favorite classic movie (His Girl Friday — Cary Grant is the best!), and a Costco run (free food!). But my favorite [...]  I grew up with an extremely tight-knit family. It was always very clear to me who I belonged to and who was supposed to be at family events. But there were also always those other people who were not-quite-family but definitely closer-than-friends. The honorary “aunts”, “uncles”, and “cousins” as it were. I really can’t remember [...] It’s that time of year–Pumpkin Time! And I loooove it! I may not like pumpkin pies (I know, I’m certifiable!), but I do love most everything else that is pumpkin inspired: pumpkin spice lattes, pumpkin candles, pumpkin bread and muffins, pumpkin seeds, and good-ole-plain pumpkins! I adore the little ones sitting around my house, reminding [...] The past week and a half has been quite the whirlwind! I apologize for the sudden silence around here at Deliberately Domestic. After you hear all that has been going on, I’m sure you’ll be able to forgive me! The day after our birthday celebration for Parker, Pop went back to good ole California. [...] A lot has happened over the last year. Wouldn’t you say? It’s been a busy few days around here! My parents left on Friday after a fun-filled week. To sum it up there was much sewing, much laughter, some baseball, lots of grandparent cuddling, a night-away for Brian and I, bike riding, some yard work, good food, warm weather, and great conversations. What a blast!
My parents are in town for the next week or so, and I couldn’t be happier! The weather is beautiful for taking them to some of our favorite chicagoland hot spots. I’m planning on blogging regularly throughout the week, but I hope you’ll forgive me if I skip a day or two. I know I’ve [...] I love family traditions. I grew up with a super creative mama who would decorate the house for every season and come up with all sorts of ways to celebrate the holidays. And I’m not just talking about the big holidays. St. Patty’s Day? No problem. She’d whip up classic Irish [...] Tomorrow is my lovely sister-in-law’s birthday. Happy Birthday to you, Nikki! I am so thankful that I married into such a wonderful family.
