Last week I had the best Joann’s experience ever. And that is saying a lot, because usually I have terrible Joann’s experiences. I don’t know what it is about Joann’s (maybe it’s just me?), but the workers are not super friendly, helpful, or (honestly! I’m not being mean!) competent. Sewing has always been a part of my life. My mom sews. My grandma sews. Even my great-grandma sewed when she was alive. I grew up wearing homemade outfits [...] I have a confession to make: I don’t like antiques. Please don’t hate me! I can totally see the value in antiques. I even like them in other people’s houses. I think other people do a really great job incorporating them in their design schemes and that they can even enhance some spaces. I always like the idea of making clothes, but when it gets right down to it, it often seems so much easier (and often cheaper) to just buy something from a store. At the same time, I hate being stagnant in one of my [...] Sometimes even the most basic items in a household need a little make-over. It doesn’t take long for a spiffy ironing board to start looking dingy with all of the ironing that is required with sewing, especially if you are a quilter. And, to be honest, my ironing board didn’t start out all that spiffy [...] My sewing area is all I could have hoped it would be!
Someone has a hard time fitting in store-bought pjs. Someone who is maybe wider than he is tall, and wears extra fluffy diapers. Hmmmm. Who could that be? With my sewing area back up and running, I was finally able to solve our pj problem. I picked up the Big Butt Baby Pant Pattern [...] Remember that pink dress? Just thinking about it reminds me how much I’m itching to get back in the sewing room!! *Sigh* Maybe just another week or two? Back to that fabulous dress. The fabric was divine.
